Helen`s Pancake & Steak House in Chadron

Almost 5 star. Best all-day breakfast food in town. Generous portions, not skimpy on bacon! Good prices as well. No surprise if its a bit crowded in the morning, but the staff is always very professional. Regular customers can make for an unique experience. The only place to get frog legs, but no hollandaise sauce, so no eggs Benedict. Maybe soon?

We were passing through and Helen's was the perfect spot to stop, stretch our legs, and get something to eat. Delicious food and great service.

Small place in a small town but 20 of us went in during off hours and with one cook and one server on staff and we got very tasty, hot food. We were very satisfied!

Biggest and best pancakes in Northwest Nebraska. Oh, and the eggs and bacon and sausage and all that other breakfast stuff is good too. Friendly, hard working staff. Great place to mingle with the locals if you're passing through on Highway 20.If you're coming up 385 from the south, it's worth taking a right turn onto 20 and going a couple blocks to the east. Look for the blue building on your left.Come hungry.

The hickory smoked bacon BBQ burger was good. I had to pay $2.50 for fries instead of chips, that was bit weird. My sister had the lasagna and we split our food between us. The lasagna needed more sauce and was burnt on the edge and a little cold, could have been better especially for the price it was, it came with 1 bread stick and i won't deny it was probably the tastiest item I had. Overall though for 2 people it was about $22 with us both drinking water. We also had to wait about half an hour before our food was brought out.

The food and service were both excellent. I'll definitely return when I come back to town!

It is a good option for a real American breakfast. Family and kids friendly, you can enjoy a calm atmosphere and a great service!

I would return to this everytime I come to Chadron. Very curtious and respectful staff.

I eat here everyday, and treated like "family"! The staff is so kind. The cooks are real artists. And the Owner is a Boss. It's the Perfect Atmosphere!

Great coffee! Very smooth. We enjoyed the steak and eggs. Pancake was huge and fluffy. Tasty fries. They had a wide menu selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items with daily specials. Interesting decor. Good stop off while traveling.

We couldn't get staff to come out and wait on us. A gentleman and 2 young ladies stood behind the register and talked. There was 3 tables full of dirty dishes. A lady and her little boy sat in a booth behind us. They had been waiting to be helped also. Another table went and found staff to pay their ticket to leave. There was a black family there eating (party of 6*). The staff did not like them there. They were pointing at them and bring rude. We left and went to Country Kitchen. We are from Kansas. Poorest place we stopped to eat on our trip.

We were glad that we picked Helen's off a whim after arriving to Chadron. Great service and excellent food, it really hit the spot. Loved the steak, well flavored and perfectly cooked.

Great little diner in town, lots of menu options and a variety of styles. Prices are compatible to most in the area. Friendly wait staff.

One waitress on a saturday morning. She choose tonserve the larger table that came in after us over our party of two. Food is over priced and they nickle and dime you for anything you want changed

We always try to eat at local restaurants when traveling...and Helen's did not let us down. We were tired and hungry. The service was great! The food was better. I can't recommend this place enough!

Nice place for a quiet meal on a Sunday as most of the other options are closed. My deluxe burger, while nothing fancy was very good. The breakfast portions of eggs,hash browns was huge. The pancake came on a separate plate because it was so large. Drinks are a little pricey at $2.25 for pop, but I guess that is the going rate. Not fast service, but not slow either. About what you’d expect from a diner kitchen. 2 breakfast plates (eggs,hash browns,bacon and pancake) 1 deluxe cheeseburger, and 3 pops set us back $40 with tip. All in all a good experience.

There was no problem with the level of service, and neither with the quality nor portions of the food. No tables were left dirty, and the wait staff were courteous and respectful. The food is home cooked and the service worthy of a solid tip on each occasion.
